On Saturday, 02/07/26 at approximately 0646 hours, the West Islip Fire Department was activated for a reported vehicle fire in the area of the Sunrise Highway service road and Udall Road. Upon arrival, 3rd Assistant Chief Ryan Broderick confirmed a fully involved vehicle fire. Additional units responded and crews quickly went to work, stretching hose lines to extinguish the fire while simultaneously conducting searches of the vehicle for any occupants. All occupants were confirmed to be out of the vehicle, and all searches were negative. Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control in approximately 20 minutes. No injuries were reported.
