A Message from the West Islip Fire Department: Change Your Clocks, Change Your Batteries
As you change your clocks, please take a few minutes to protect your home and family:
Replace batteries in your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide alarms.
Test every smoke and carbon monoxide detector in your home.
Check hardwired or 10-year sealed battery units by pressing the test button to ensure they are working properly.
Replace any alarm that is expired, damaged, or does not work.
Review your safety plan so your family knows what the alarm sounds like and has an established escape plan.
