| 🇺🇸25 Years of Rememberance🇺🇸
Today marks 25 years since the world changed forever on September 11, 2001. A quarter of a century has passed, yet for our fire service family and the West Islip community, the memories, the grief, and the profound pride in our fallen brothers and sisters remain as clear as ever.
We remember the 2,977 innocent lives lost in New York City, at the Pentagon, and in Shanksville, Pennsylvania—including the 343 FDNY firefighters, 37 Port Authority Police Officers and 23 New York City Police Officers who ran toward danger without hesitation. We honor our local heroes, neighbors, and first responders who answered the call that fateful morning, as well as those who have succumbed in the years since to 9/11-related illnesses.
To the families who carry the weight of an empty seat at the dinner table: West Islip stands with you today, tomorrow, and always.❤️
Take a moment today to reflect, to honor, and to uphold the promise we made 25 years ago: Never Forget.
