THE DANGERS OF MULCH FIRES

WHY MULCH FIRES HAPPEN:
THE RISKS:
1. Improper Disposal of Cigarettes
2. Spontaneous Combustion - High Heat + Decomposition
3. Electrical Sparks

HOW TO PREVENT MULCH FIRES:
Properly dispose of smoking materials, use ashreceptacles.
Avoid piling mulch too high (keep it under 4 inches)
Water mulch regularly, especially in hot, dry weather Use non-combustible material (gravel, rock) near house foundations (e.g., 18 inches).
