On Friday 02/06/26 at approximately 1426 hours, the West Islip Fire Department was activated for a reported motor vehicle accident involving an overturn with possible ejection in the area of the Robert Moses Causeway and Ocean Parkway. Due to the initial report, Suffolk County Police Department placed their Aviation Unit on standby.

Upon arrival, crews confirmed a single vehicle overturned with negative ejection and no entrapment. The operator had self-extricated prior to the arrival of first responders and was awaiting evaluation. SCPD Aviation was then given a disregard.
While EMS evaluated the patient, other personnel stabilized the vehicle and mitigated fluid spills. EMS transported one patient with minor injuries. The scene was subsequently turned over to the Suffolk County Police Department.
