The West Islip Fire Department recently had the pleasure of hosting Brownie Troop 2228 for a hands-on lesson in fire safety and emergency preparedness.

Our Fire Prevention Committee spoke with the troop about what to do in an emergency, demonstrated how to splint an injured leg, and showed them how to make a sling for an injured arm. These future leaders learned valuable skills that could help keep them and others safe.

A big thank you to Troop 2228 for visiting—we had a great time sharing our knowledge with you!
