| On April 11, 2026, at approximately 5:40 AM, the West Islip Fire Department was dispatched for a reported structure fire in the area of Thadeus Lane and Church Lane.
Upon arrival, 3rd Assistant Chief Ryan Broderick confirmed a working fire and requested the activation of the mutual aid assignment. The fire was located in a 20x30 detached utility shed. First-due crews quickly stretched hose lines and initiated fire suppression operations, while additional units assisted with extinguishment and overhaul.
The fire was brought under control in approximately 30 minutes. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Town of Islip - Government Fire Marshal’s Office.
