On Sunday, 02/08/26, the West Islip Fire Department was activated for mutual aid to the Babylon Fire Department for a reported structure fire. Babylon units arrived and subsequently transmitted a working structure fire.

Babylon Fire Department command reported a fire in a two-story, peaked-roof private dwelling, with fire showing in the rear of the structure. While en route, Babylon FD requested West Islip units to respond and operate as a truck company.

Upon arrival, West Islip units immediately went to work, laddering the building and conducting searches for fire extension and any potential occupants, while Babylon units advanced hose lines to extinguish the fire. All searches were negative, and no injuries were reported.

Crews operated on scene and were back in service in a little over one hour.
